Air-filled bird balls are usually used. These have stability in wind speeds of up to 80 km/h.

Water-filled bird balls are recommended where the cover balls are exposed to higher wind speeds. These balls are then approximately half filled with water and have a total weight of 240 grams and are stable in wind speeds of up to 147 km/h.

Holistic protection against birds, algae, water loss and unpleasant odors

Bird Balls® are UV-stabilized black hollow plastic balls with a diameter of 100 mm made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Thanks to its UV stabilization, they are weather-resistant.

They are easy to install and are simply placed on the water surface. There they arrange themselves independently to form an almost closed lid. The balls floating on the water cover approx. 91% of the entire surface. Regardless of whether the area of water to be covered rises or falls, the surface remains covered.

This way, the sun cannot shine in and produce algae. Birds can see the water surface because it does not reflect and simply fly over it. This almost closed lid ensures that the unpleasant smells are released into the air to a small extent and evaporation is significantly reduced.

Depending on the weather conditions in the area, there are two types of Bird Balls: air-filled and water-filled. The water-filled Bird Balls lie deeper in the water and can therefore withstand higher wind speeds.
