One of the biggest problems in effective water management is water loss through evaporation, which is very difficult to control or reduce over large areas, such as a reservoir. However, today freshwater is becoming increasingly valuable as water sources become scarcer and populations grow, so minimizing evaporation has never been more important.
Just think of drinking and irrigation water reservoirs, fire-fighting water reservoirs at airports, drinking water and sludge reservoirs near mines or the reservoirs of livestock farms: evaporation losses are undesirable everywhere.
Replenishing water supplies not only costs time and money, but also incurs significant additional costs. In addition, given climate change, the question arises as to how long we can continue to guarantee the necessary supplies.
Water evaporation can be minimized!
Water evaporation can be significantly reduced by using our cover balls. The Bird Ball™, the water-filled Bird Ball™ and the Self-Filling Ball® are all efficient solutions to this problem. By covering 91% of the liquid surfaces in reservoirs, evaporative loss can be reduced by up to 90% by minimizing the area of uncovered surface. In addition, the influence of environmental factors that affect the evaporation rate will be significantly reduced.
The use of balls also contributes significantly to maintaining water quality, as the formation of algae and the growth of aquatic plants can be controlled. The use of balls is worthwhile for practically all types of reservoirs, as they offer advantages everywhere.
What if the wind rises?
You may rightly ask yourself: what happens to the plastic balls in windy weather? Most people imagine that the wind simply picks up the entire covering layer and does what it wants with them.
But our balls cannot be removed that easily!
The balls will not disappoint even in the most extreme weather conditions. Air-filled balls can withstand winds of up to 80 km/h, while water-filled and self-filling balls will stay in place even in winds of 150 km/h.
How can the top layer be installed?
Using the balls is extremely easy! The balls spread themselves out to cover the surface evenly. They do not require any maintenance during use, meaning they do their job without being noticed!
Our balls are made using a unique, patented technology that we developed ourselves, so you can say goodbye to evaporation-related problems for decades!
