Plastic hollow spheres in concrete construction

How Euro Matic's 225 mm hollow spheres save CO₂, material and costs

In times of climate change, raw material scarcity and increasing cost pressure, intelligent construction is more important than ever.
The 225 mm hollow balls from Euro Matic set new standards here: They make it possible to significantly slim down concrete slabs – without compromising their load-bearing capacity.

The principle is as simple as it is ingenious: the hollow spheres are integrated into the concrete ceilings and displace the concrete exactly where it is not needed for structural reasons.
The result: Less concrete consumption, lower dead weight, lower CO₂ emissions and significant cost savings.

How do hollow spheres work in concrete construction?

The plastic balls are placed between the upper and lower reinforcement of a concrete slab.
In these places, the concrete does not perform any significant load-bearing function anyway – it only carries its own weight.
Through targeted displacement, the system saves up to 35% concrete material .

At the same time, the load-bearing capacity is fully maintained because the outer layers of the concrete, which bear the main load, remain untouched.

The advantages of Euro Matic's 225 mm hollow balls at a glance:

⚖️ Lighter blankets

Reducing the dead weight by 25–35% makes construction more efficient – and buildings can be designed to be slimmer and more resource-efficient.

↔️ Larger spans

Lower dead load allows larger ceiling areas to be realized without additional supports – ideal for modern, open architecture.

📉 Slimmer foundations and supports

Less weight also means lower loads on the supporting structure. This allows for slimmer foundations and saves concrete and steel.

⏱️ Faster construction processes

Lighter elements are easier to handle and install on site – this speeds up the entire construction phase.

♻️ Sustainable construction made easy

1 kg of plastic replaces up to 100 kg of concrete – an enormous saving of resources, which not only saves material, but also the CO₂ balance massively improved.
Because cement production is responsible for around 8% of global CO₂ emissions responsible.

Sustainability and innovation in concrete construction

The construction industry is facing enormous challenges:
Climate targets, raw material shortages, skilled labor shortages and cost pressure demand innovative solutions.

With the 225 mm hollow balls, Euro Matic offers a technology that addresses precisely this:
Less material consumption, fewer emissions, more efficiency – without compromising on quality or safety.

Already proven worldwide

The hollow sphere technology is used worldwide in a wide variety of construction projects:
Ob Wohn- and Bürogebäude, Parking garages, Infrastructure projects or Industrial buildings – everywhere, building owners and planners are benefiting from the advantages of lighter, more sustainable ceiling solutions.

Small balls – big impact

A small, simple idea can change an entire industry:
225 mm plastic balls make concrete construction easier, more resource-efficient and more efficient.

Less weight. Less concrete. More future.
